Earthways was founded in 1999 by Cody
Beebe. The vision of Earthways is one of
community, sustainability, and conscious living.
Through the skills and lessons taught in our
programs we strive to nurture closer
connections with family, community, and the
natural world for the benefit of all relations, both
present and future.

The teaching techniques used in all
Earthways programs are the same as taught
by world renowned naturalist and mentor
Jon Young, and the same as used at the
Wilderness Awareness School. They are
based in rich cultural traditions from around
the world and incorporate learning as a way
of life and a “culture” rather than something
you do only at certain times and in certain
places. They incorporate the idea that
learning must be inspired rather than taught.

organized and implemented through these
